I was born and raised in Vermont while I currently live in Florida. Ever since I was young I had a passion for art. I am fascinated with the therapeutic aspects of art and how it can be cathartic and expressive.
Most of my work is based in my love of nature, animals and organic shapes. I believe that lines, colors and composition can make a piece feel and look alive. Two of my favorite subjects are animals, mostly in pet portraits, and plants. I love to grow plants, particularly a garden, and use them a lot for my subject.
I love to teach art and see how anyone can grow and enjoy art no matter their background. I truly believe that everyone can learn how to draw and express themselves whether they think they can or not. Most of the time it is overcoming the negative self talk and telling ourselves we can’t do it.
I currently work out of Florida due to taking care of my mother who has Parkinson’s and is in hospice care. I find art can give hope and meaning in almost any situation.
